{ End of Another Weekend }

Well, it’s the end of the weekend again. Why do they always go so fast?! We worked on getting stuff ready for a garage sale this coming week. I have sooo much stuff to get rid of and it’ll be nice to have the space that’s now occupied by all that ‘stuff’. I have no idea what else I would do with the space but I hate the clutter of the stuff so just the big empty space in the basement will be so much better. I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time as I’d hoped with my brand new niece of the weekend. Mom and baby are safely home and I got an e-mail tonight with adorable new photos. :) I’m hoping maybe I can spend some time there tomorrow or Tuesday night.

I did take a break to make a new pillow with some fabric that I came across while rummaging through stuff to put in the garage sale.My_new_pillow I also found these great beads left over from some curtains. Anyone who knows my sewing style knows I LOVE beads. I love the beaded trim like this at the bottom of curtains, along the edges of pillows or lamp shades, pretty much anywhere. I’ve also sewn little tiny beads to the face of fabric to highlight certain colors or give it a little sparkle. Sparkly beads are my favorite. :)

I’ve posted the color swatch for freebies 2 weeks from now and have to wait till I have access to the FTP at work tomorrow to post this weeks color challenge for the members so for now I’m heading to bed to get ready for this next week. Should be a crazy one with only 3 days in the office and a LOT to get done there and then a garage sale Friday & Saturday that I don’t think I would be as ready as I’d like to be if it were 3 weeks from now. And then there’s my new little niece that I’d like to spend some time with this week ‘cuz they change sooo much so fast in the first week or so. Plus I know her mom & dad will be pretty wiped out with having Paige & Corbin to chase around and Ainsley to keep them up nights so maybe I can spend some time keeping Pete & Beans out of their hair too some night this week. Life sure never gets boring around here. :)

{ Ainsley Grace }

It’s a girl…a little beauty, an angel, and I’m madly in love with her. ~Henry Miller

AinsleygraceIsn’t she perfect! She has the most beautiful skin and her little lips are so pretty. She was born just after noon today and she and mother are doing wonderfully. Thanks so much to everyone at SBB who were praying for them today. Ainsley Grace is 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long. She appears to be a girly version of her brother Corbin with just a touch of red in her hair but not nearly as much as her big sister Paige had. And so far she seems to have her brother’s laid back personality. Barely cried all day. :)

Well, I can barely keep my eyes open so I’m off to bed. Leeandra just wrote me a poem to post ‘cuz she knew I was struggling with what to say as my brain is already on it’s way to bed. So here’s Leeandra’s poem:

here’s the baby. ain’t she a cutie? check out this picture while I put to sleep my booty.

Thanks Leeandra! I owe ya one! :) Goodnight!

{ Happy Mother’s Day }

Happy Mother’s Day everyone! And happy National Scrapbook Day! :) I’ve finished 2 scrapbook pages so far this weekend. Haven’t posted them yet. One I’m not sure is finished and the other is a lift of one of Dawn’s LOs that I did with the self portraits I took last week. Not sure I’ll ever post that one. LOL  But it was fun to do and as wierd as it feels to do a LO all about me, I do think I’ll regret it down the road if I have nothing of my life at this stage to look back at.

I just bought a great book the other night with ‘wishes’ for a daughter and although I don’t have a daughter I bought it to use the wishes and the Bible verses that go with them to make an album for my niece Celena. I’d like to buy the ‘wishes for sons’ one after I’m finished with Celena’s album and do one for Andrew too. I’m thinking I’ll print these at 8 x 8 and have them bound at Office Max or something. For Celena’s I’m hoping to tie all sorts of ribbons along the binding to make it fun. I’ve always wanted to do that! :) I’ll have to think of something masculine to do with Andrews. They’re both amazing kids with such great hearts and their life situation is so not anything I would’ve hoped for them. So I really want to make these albums a priority in the next few weeks and I think working on them will help me feel like I’m able to do something for them while I’m otherwise feeling a bit helpless.

And THEN I have a NEW niece who is joining our family at noon this Thursday! 118_1881_1I haven’t made a big announcement about this and actually hope to scrap a page this afternoon of this photo of my sister Tammy with her DH posing with the pregnancy test they’d taken back when they first found out they were pregnant again. They’ve been through SOOO much in the past year and this pregnancy and a new little baby to love is such an answer to prayers. This also means WAY more photos to scrap once she’s here! :) How will I ever get caught up?!

I DID cross quite a few things off my list. And I only added 2 things for now and the color challenge post should be a breeze since the colors are already picked out ahead of time. I’d also like to finish that cd for my friend Julie today so I can mail that tomorrow and maybe scrap 2 more pages this afternoon and then work on that wedding album which has been so fun to do. Shari takes AMAZING photos so it’s a riot to work with them and arrange them into an album. I just hope I’m doing them justice!! :)

UPDATED TO-DO LIST:

  • Finish wedding album for Shari
  • Post color challenge for May 9 -15
  • Clean out dresser drawers YAY!
  • Organize garage sale stuff in garage
  • Overnight Shari’s package
  • Make CD & label for Julie
  • Work on kit for store at SBB
  • Create sample ad for alpha
  • Start featured product LOs due 25th 2 down 2 to go! :)
  • Post color swatch for coordinated freebies (week of May 15-21)
  • Have dinner at Carabba’s (that’s my fun 1 for Leeandra) ;)
  • { The List & The Flowers }

    Okay, the idea of making this to do list and posting it here was for me to actually have fun crossing things off from it as I accomplish all these great things. Now instead of crossing things off I’m actually updating it to add things. *sigh* And oh how I wish I’d thought of a few other things that needed to be done so I could now cross them off – like mowing the lawn (although my dh did that but don’t think for a second it wouldn’t have been just as fun to cross off the list) or posting yesterday’s color challenge (which I did but hadn’t thought to put it on my list before doing it). I did accomplish a little bit on my list yesterday though and I have a really good excuse for not crossing off more of them. So here’s my updated list:

  • Clean out dresser drawers
  • Organize garage sale stuff in garage
  • Overnight Shari’s package
  • Make CD & label for Julie
  • Work on kit for store at SBB
  • Create sample ad for alpha
  • Start featured product LOs due 25th
  • Post color swatch for coordinated freebies (week of May 15-21)
  • Have dinner at Carabba’s (that’s my fun 1 for Leeandra) ;)
  • So the reason I haven’t finished as much as I had planned to from my list is that I ended up watching my niece and nephew last night while my sister and her husband had a church meeting. FlowersAND, as if hanging out with the kids while they drew pictures at the counter, or playing hide and seek with them (which I totally won), or having milk shakes together, or helping Corbin get the ‘shuga bugs’ out of his absolutely adorable little teeth before bed and then snuggling with him while I read ‘just one more’ story out of his book, or snuggling with Paigey while she reads to me and then falling asleep with her for awhile…as if all that weren’t better than crossing things off my little to do list… TODAY I get this beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to my office from who else but my favoritest Pete and Beans (aka Paige and Corbin). I truly don’t think I could ever thank God enough for the amazing family I get to be part of! :)

    { Where’d My Weekend Go? }

    So the weekend is over. For some reason it feels like I just skipped over it. I did go out with my family for dinner on Friday night like we used to do so much more often. I miss our Friday night outtings. I think my parents were busier over the winter with their major remodel job and I guess we all kinda let life get too busy in general and let those sorts of little things go. Waitingtoeat_3Or maybe it’s the fact that we typically spent half the day Friday trying to decide where we should go. But it was really nice to spend the car ride home talking to various family members and making sure as many of us as possible would all converge on the chosen restaurant at the appropriate time. I even scrapped a LO of it already which has to be record time for me from the photo taking itself to the completed LO.

    I actually scrapped TWO pages this weekend believe it or not. And I did get quite a bit done around the house. The laundry is completely caught up and I started organizing the infinite amount of skin care products that I’ve accumulated recently from Beauticontrol (hoping it works against those nasty wrinkles my rebel found yesterday). AND I cleared off the top of our dresser in the master bedroom. I have no idea why but half of our laundry ends up piled on TOP of the dresser rather than put away in the drawers. Probably because my next project should be going through and throwing out the stuff that’s just taking up unnecessary room in them. I think it’s fair to say if I haven’t worn it since we moved into this house 2 years ago it probably can go. So I’m adding that to my growing to do list and I’m posting my to do list here because I figure that may help motivate me. Who doesn’t love to cross things off a to-do list. I have a sister that will actually add something she’s already done to her to-do list just to be able to cross it off! :)

    So here goes my to-do list and hopefully somehow I’ll wake up tomorrow and realize I didn’t skip the weekend and it is in fact Saturday morning rather than Monday.

    • Clean out dresser drawers
    • Organize garage sale stuff in garage
    • Overnight Shari’s package
    • Make CD & label for Julie
    • Work on kit for store at SBB
    • Create sample ad for alpha
    • Start featured product LOs due 25th

    Better get some sleep so I have the energy to accomplish a few of these things tomorrow. No doubt I’ll be posting again as soon as I’ve got even one of those things done and can use that nifty crossing out feature of this thing. :)
