{ More on Music }

Been having fun with my Rhapsody player lately and desperately searching Amazon for some new ‘little-known’ artists to check out. I love finding some obscure artist and then looking at the "Customers who bought this title also bought:" list. Tonight it actually brought me to an artist by the name of Tift Merritt whose voice sorta reminded me of the group Texas. I hadn’t listened to their music in such a long time but I just love their music. So now I’m listening to their White on Blonde album and after that I think I’ll check out their more recent album which somehow I’d missed. I’ve been trying to keep up with Nadine’s blog ‘cuz she’s got some great taste in music and seems to like all types and ‘off the beaten path’ stuff just like me. Anywho, lovin’ this rhapsody thing that Amy tipped me off to. So awesome to be able to check out new artists and listen to whole songs before spending the money on the CD’s. LOVIN’ it! :)

Other current favs:

  • Jason Mraz – his new live cd – fav song…Not So Usual
  • Sarah McLachlan – Afterglow live – best Sarah cd yet IMHO :)
  • Robert Downey Jr. – The Futurist – kinda jazzy yet soothing
  • Jessica Andrews – favorite song – They Are The Roses
  • Rob Thomas – Something To Be – love every song!
  • Anna Nalick – Great new artist! Probably my fav style of music.

    I need to try some of your music choices Shawn – Sarah McLachlan and Rob Thomas are some of my faves, so I bet I will like your other picks as well……..

    Check out Amanda Marshall (her early stuff is better), Shelby Lynne (I Am Shelby Lynne is the best album she made) Jan Arden and Marti Jones. As far as boys go, Ray LaMontagne, Don Dixon, Donovan Frankenreiter (a friend of Jack Johnson’s) and Glenn Phillips new CD (formerly the lead singer in Toad the Wet Sprocket). Let me know how these grab you and I’ll see what else I can come up with! Hope you’re doing well – it was fun chatting on Friday night! :)

    Oh Shawn…I couldn’t be any happier for you and your family! Please pass out a round of huge hugs for me. And yes, poor babies WILL miss their Mom. I worked in Family Court for a number of years and you can’t believe the abuse children can suffer and yet still adore the abuser…but dear heart, the extended family those children have had the good fortune to be born into will more than make up for any sense of loss they may feel. So glad your prayers were answered.
