{ Sales & Travel }

Big sales today at Digital Design Essentials and Modscraps! Gina’s got 2 new kits up today and I have to say, the Shabby Cottage collection especially is one you really have to see in it’s full size to appreciate how gorgeous it is. And I’m downloading the mega kit as I type that was collaborated on by all the gals at Modscraps. LOVE the color combination and the embellishments in this one are so fun! From what I can tell everything is 15% off at Modscraps, not sure for how long so check it out!

Other than that, not much new to blog about. Watched the first 2 episodes of the Apprentice last night with my best friend Jill. Happy about the outcome of the first one but that Markus character’s gotta go and the guy that left instead I really kinda liked. Oh well, still lots of interesting competitors and it’s too early to get too disappointed about losing one.

This morning I get to go pick out a t-shirt or sweatshirt to get printed with our ‘Digital Housewives’ logo and probably a more difficult task yet of picking out what font to have ‘Auntie Pea’ printed on the back in. Manda says they have a bazillion fonts to pick from so I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. Then I’m off to work for a few hours today and hoping to get home mid afternoon to get ready for a SBB class tomorrow afternoon and the convention which is only TWO weeks away!! And as if that’s not enough excitement for the next 2 weeks, my SIL is actually tempting me to take a spontaneous trip to New York City next weekend. Flight tickets are only $139 round trip but it’s for next weekend only. It’s the exact same time of year Mary & I went there 4 years ago and to me the weather couldn’t be more perfect for wandering Manhattan. Would LOVE to go to Central Park & Soho & Ground Zero again with my new camera and get some REAL pictures of the city. Plus it would mean flying 4 times within less than 2 weeks. Pretty sure I’ve never done that and noone gets more excited about flying than this chicky. Tad nervous about flying alone for the Philadelphia trip but still excited. Not looking forward to lugging around my laptop cuz that thing’s like a boat anchor. Gotta have it though and can’t even imagine letting those awful airport guys throw it around with all the checked baggage. I don’t know how anything makes it through that abuse.

Well, gotta get to the screen graphics shop. Oh, video of the day is Gwen Stephani (sp?) and I mostly love it cuz it’s filmed somewhere beautiful. I’m not even sure where but it seems like it could be Greece. Wish they had $139 round trip tickets to there! :)

{ Inspirational Quotes }

Always inspired by Ali Edwards’ blog. She’s truly amazing creatively but tonight I was actually inspired by a couple of quotes that she happened to post.

The minute you begin to do what you really want to do, it’s really a different kind of life. (Buckminster Fuller)

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the upmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. (Eleanor Roosevelt)

While I’m here I’m gonna switch the video of the day a little early. Got a busy day tomorrow and I found the video for a song that I LOVE by LeeAnn Rhimes so I don’t think a day and a half will be too much for this one. ;)

I decided to go ahead and register the domain name for ‘digitalhousewives.com’ too. Not quite sure what we’ll do with it but we’re getting together Friday night so I figure we can come up with somethin. SBB is where it’s at and I don’t want digitalhousewives to be anything that takes me away from that but it seemed like a good idea to at least register the name just in case we think of something fun to do with it. We’re having t-shirts made up for the convention so if they’re a hit maybe we could use the site to sell stuff like that. We’ll see. Gotta make sure the name itself and our rather similar logo doesn’t pose any conflicts with the Desperate Housewives thing. At this point it’s just our small local group using the name and making our own shirts but selling them and using rather obviously inspired graphics may pose issues if sold publicly. So we’ll see.

Kay, I think I’m finally tired enough that I’ll crash when I hit the bed. Long day ahead tomorrow and staying up till 2 am could prove to be not such a great idea.

{ Down at Fraggle Rock }

Talked to my brother Dino last night and found out that he’s a little annoyed with my ‘video-of-the-day’. Apparently he likes to catch up on my blog at work while he’s waiting for tests from the lab and the computer back there is sloooow. He seems quite frustrated with it and he doesn’t think his company will upgrade the computer just so he can read my blog. Go figure.

Boober_1BUT, today I think I can make up for it. We’ve been on a quest for episodes of a little  show we used to watch growing up and while browsing through new releases over at Amazon this morning I found out they recently released the whole 1st year of episodes on DVD. How cool is that Dino!?!

AND, Nickelback’s new CD comes out next Tuesday. That’ll definitely be on my download list for the new Ipod. Lovin’ that thing! :)

{ Weekend Update }

Been mostly a scrappin’ weekend. Getting to scrap with some GREAT stuff for the featured product this month. Toughest part about doing these is not being able to share until the newletter is published. :( I’ve done 3 LOs already which has gotta be a record for me only half way through a weekend. Have to finish 3 more this afternoon and get ‘em uploaded by midnight. Good thing I work best under pressure. :)

I’ve gotta update my photo of the day too. I’ve been taking them, just not posting them lately. Got some cute ones of Braelynn & Grammy from Friday night after our dinner at Mario’s and Paige had a little dance recital yesterday so I’ll get those up later today. Right now I’ve gotta get ready for church. Had a slumber party last night with Celena AND Paige overnight so 3 girls getting ready could take a little extra time. ;)

Video of the day today is by a local group actually. The song is probably a familiar one because Josh Groban released the same song. From what I’d heard, this group (Selah) was given the song for their latest album but when the album was delayed, Josh Groban was also given the opportunity to record it and, well, I sorta like Josh Groban’s version a little better but hey, he has a full orchestra backing him up and his voice is perfection. Fun to see this local group performing the same song though and there’s a verse in it that was taken out for the Josh Groban version for main stream radio. I also LOVE this groups harmony. I’m a sucker for a 3 part harmony. Love nothing more than to stand next to my sister Kimmy in church ‘cuz she sings alto so beautifully. Anyway, give it a listen. The bald-headed guy and blonde female singer in the group are brother & sister & they have amazing voices (especially combined). :) And don’t worry, I’ve got the Josh Groban version on deck for tomorrow. ;)

{ New Toy }

Screenshot006_1LOVE music, LOVE new geeky technology stuff so it took me all of a day to decide I just had to have the new Ipod Nano. Already loaded Michael Buble, Anna Nalick & the 1st part of the audio book – A Purpose-Driven Life. Right now it’s downloading the new Backstreet Boys album from Itunes. (Don’t laugh!) Never really was a Backstreet Boys fan back in their hay day but so far I’ve liked the 1st two songs from their latest album. Somethin’ about their new stuff has a Def Leppard sound to me and I think it’s kinda fun that they’re pulling off an 80′s hair band sound and making it popular in 2005. (Well, maybe it’s only popular in my mind but none-the-less.) :)

Can’t wait to put a few photos on it to scroll through on the fun little color screen. Gotta figure out how to sync it with my outlook calendar & contacts. LOVE that I can use it for that too. Totally pumped about my new toy!! :)

If anyone has any tips on importing songs from a copy-protected security enhanced pain in my butt CD I’d love a few tips. Can’t for the life of me get my Natasha Bedingfield CD transferred. :(

{ Professional Aunt??? You Decide }

First of all, people with kids are saints and I’m quite certain people with more than 2 of ‘em have a special place in heaven. OMGosh am I a trainwreck come bedtime babysitting Paige, Corbin & Ainsley. Everything up till 8:30 goes so smoothly and then WOAH! Look out! When Ainsley’s hungry she is HUNGRY and waiting for a bottle to go from frozen to luke warm when it’s not s’posed to be microwaved is just WAY too long even with hot tap water. Meanwhile Paige accidentally bops Corbin in the noggin with the end of a guitar. Now Cobin’s bauling, brushing his teeth (by himself) and still not in his pajamas. Paige is on her 3rd book trying to find one that she can read to me before bed after starting at least a page into each of the first 2. Corbin chooses ‘Chicka Chicka Boom Boom’ which was oddly disappointing considering how fun the name sounds. At this point Ainsley is so worked up over not eating that she downs the now lukewarm bottle in like 2 seconds flat and taking a break to burp is NOT an option. Whew! But, by 10:00 when Tam & Brian got home, all kids were sound asleep in their beds with milk in their belly’s (a few teddy grahams too – from the delight on their face over that treat I’m guessing I wasn’t supposed to give ‘em those) and at least less sugar bugs in their teeth than they would’ve had if they hadn’t brushed at all, right?

Highlights from the evening and evidence that Corbie’s spending too much time with Grappy:

  • On Grammy & Grappy’s brand new 50" plasma tv what does this 3 year-old want to watch?  Hee Haw!
  • Corbin to Scott while swinging – "You’re pushin’ me all kitty-wampus Scott"

Good thing he’s so stinkin’ cute cuz it’s gonna be tough makin’ friends in kindergarten talkin’ like that. LOL

Anyway, I made it through the night but you KNOW it was chaos when I had 3 adorable kids around me the entire evening and I didn’t even get ONE photo for the photo of the day. CRAZY!

And I changed the video of the day this morning but I’m already bored with it so I’m switching it to tomorrow’s early. Plus I like this one so much it deserves 1 1/2 days. :)
