{ Love Monkey }

01Might be my new favorite tv show. Loved the show Ed and this new show has such a great cast. Oddly enough the main guy (we’ll call him Ed) is up against his old girlfriend from the tv show Ed since she’s now on Boston Legal which was on at the same time. Tivo’d Boston Legal and watched this live but I’m gonna have to figure something out in case I’m not home sometime on a Tuesday night. Plus I’m so spoiled! Hate watching an hour long show over an actual hour. Fastforwarding through commercials it takes half the time. If you don’t already have Tivo you REALLY need to check it out. It’s 2006 and once you have one you won’t believe you actually watched tv the old way for so long. Seriously the greatest appliance in our home.

Anyway, about Love Monkey – GREAT music selections (the minute they played ‘Boogie Shoes’ by KC & the Sunshine Band I knew it was my new favorite television show). GREAT characters with such fun personalities. GREAT city – fun to see NYC being really played up (CBGB, dive bars, fun green door on the main characters NY apartment – love it!). And they even mentioned Monroe Michigan where they found a great new singer songwriter (gotta find out who that was). GREAT writers – favorite line (out of so many great lines) would have to be ‘too late is just around the corner’. At least I think that’s what his ‘girlfriend’ said. Just love this show! :)

Well, I’m completely exhausted. Think I might be coming down with a cold. :( I’ve got an 8:00 sales meeting tomorrow which is SOOO early and I’ve gotta pick up donuts on the way so I’m off to bed.

{ My Record Long Post }

Kay, I may need to split this into more than one post because I’m not used to posting Greysanatomy_5‘Gina Miller’ size blog posts. ;) First of all I’m watching Grey’s Anatomy and have I mentioned how much I LOVE this tv show?! I so love the characters. I love that it’s funny, touching, sometimes overly dramatic and completely interesting every single minute of the show.

I’m way behind but Dancing with the Stars update: Lisa Rinna – might be trying a bit too hard. Was super impressed with her last week and thought the judges were a bit hard on her but this week I was much less impressed. What’s with the super slow rhumba’s? Anywho, Drew Lachey is still my favorite and how can you not love that Jerry Rice?! I was a little annoyed that I didn’t tivo the OC because Thursday night’s show was an hour and a half and then when I watched Friday night’s show they replayed each person’s entire dance. Had I known that I may have at least skipped watching the over-lapping 1/2 hour so I could catch the new episode of OC. I just love Seth’s sense of humor on that show.

Digital Housewives, For Nancy who asked, are a group of girls here in Michigan that actually get together at eachother’s houses to digi-scrap. My sister Manda started digi-scrapping shortly after I did (which is totally unfair ‘cuz she’s scrapped WAY more pages than me since!) and I think every one of her friends were so excited about this new way of scrapbooking that they went out and bought laptops so we could all scrap together like they did when it was all done with paper. We found a great hotel in the area with suites and even fireplaces in every room and a great lobby with wireless so we occasionally even get to have digi-scrapping slumber parties. :) We have a blog that we keep in touch on and I’ve toyed around with and I’ve toyed around with posting digital housewives challenges but there are so many great challenges already out there that I’m thinking now of maybe choosing a challenge that seems especially interesting from each week and post a link on our blog. Just some thoughts at this point and not sure if it’s more than I want to take on at this point with new nieces on the way and not enough time in the days as it is. Inevitably when we get together we learn new tricks from eachother so I thought about posting those tips on the blog as well. For now we’re just a group of gals who love to get together and scrapbook the digital way. Instead of pieces of paper and hole punches and stickers strewn all across some tables we have laptops, external hard drives and cords plugged into power strips. :)

I also have some sad news to share. I’ve made the very difficult decision to hang up my SBB DTM tiara. I will definitely miss being a part of such an amazing team but with 2 new nieces on the way I decided it was time to focus more on being the best possible aunt to them and more supportive of my sisters – their moms. I’m trying to work on a better balance in 2006 and my priorities were in need of a little adjusting. SBB is still my favorite place on the web and I actually hope to spend more time participating there on a regular member level. Hopefully posting more LOs, commenting more in the gallery and maybe even hanging out in the chat room now and then. :)

Okay, I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open and I’m not quite done yet. I’ve been tagged by Gina which means I have to answer this fun list of questions here on my blog. So here goes nothin’:

4 jobs you’ve had in your life

  • Various different duties at the local skating rink – snack bar, admissions, rentals (couldn’t handle dj’ing cuz I hated hearing my voice over all those speakers & a little too nice to wear the striped shirts and blow whistles at the kids skating way too fast) This was actually a really fun job being a junior high/high school aged kid at the time.
  • Various jobs at a local bank – receptionist, teller, customer service
  • Office manager at a local woodworking company – LOVED being able to use the awesome wood working equipment there. I have a gorgeous 4 post bed that I made almost completely on my own (other than the cuts where my arms weren’t long enough to do without losing half of one). We also worked on a project while I was there restoring much of the woodwork for Notre Dame University. It was fun to see the beautiful architectural gigantic doors and then visit the university after the project was finished.
  • Office manager for a small leasing company – favorite part of this job is the software development side of it. I’m such a computer geek! LOL

4 movies you could watch over and over:

  • Sound of Music
  • Guys and Dolls
  • Serendipity
  • How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

4 places you have lived:

  • Kay, I’ve only lived in 2 cities and I’m not sure it would even count as 2 because I’ve always lived within a 3 or 4 mile radius. LOL

4 tv shows you love to watch:

  • Dancing with the Stars
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • The Bachelor
  • Related

4 places you’ve been on vacation:

  • Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
  • Manhattan, New York City
  • Cape Cod
  • Chicago

4 websites you visit daily:

4 of your favorite foods:

4 places you’d rather be right now:

  • It’s late and I’m exhausted so I’d have to say in my bed, on my fluffy pillow, under my velvety chenille blanket and down comforter, between my freshly cleaned fabric softener scented sheets.

I think that covers it all for tonight. Off to dreamland. :)

{ The Video of the Day }

Okay, I haven’t seen these guys in concert yet but I MIGHT be seeing them with some of the digital housewives next month. I think I’m gonna take a break from the videos from artists I’ve seen in concert and post videos that have been particularly touching to me. I LOVE music and for me somehow a message put to song can touch me like nothing else can. I’m sure for some people they’re more effected by something they read in a book or see in a film but for me it’s music. This particular song (skin by Rascal Flatts) is one of those songs that I can barely listen to without tears in my eyes. I LOVE that music can have that kind of power.

Kay, lots to say about tonight’s ‘dancing with the stars’ but I’m in the middle of doing my 1st layout of my recent mexico trip and I’m determined to finish it tonight and then I’d really like to put together a ‘well-balanced’ to-do list like Gina recently posted a link to on her blog. I’ll be back to add links. OH, and the hair cut thing – I WILL post pics and I DID get the #2 cut which was a little scary when she said ‘you sure you’re ready’ before taking the 1st cut but I’m actually liking it. Wasn’t sure at first and today wasn’t it’s best day but I have had moments of thinking it’s pretty darn cute which is rare for me. If not before I’m sure I’ll get some pics when that new niece finally arrives. Nope Gina, no news yet but should be very soon. I can’t WAIT to meet her! :) Kay, off to finish scrappin’ and hopefully I’ll have something somewhat creative to post yet tonight. In the meantime grab a few kleenex and listen to ‘skin’.

Paigebythewillow_2

I figured since I posted the earlier version of this on the blog awhile back that I should post the update with the finished layout. You’ll notice that it really doesn’t look much different from the earlier post. LOL

Update on the new tv shows – for whatever reason my husband decided Out of Practice would be better than the new Emily Reasons show. Soooo, I have no idea if that was a great new show or not. Maybe if any of you saw it you could update me so I know whether to catch it next week or not. Jayne? I did watch the Bachelor although I wasn’t paying too close attention because I’m hoping to watch it again with Jill on Wednesday and I was scrapping a page with Gina’s new kit while it was on last night. From what I gathered there’s a super cute girl from Canada that he seems especially interested in so far. Haven’t paid enough attention to even know if she’s normal (which if you’ve watched the show in the past the ratio of normal girls to psychos is pretty skewed). The psycho ‘ready for reproduction’ chick is already gone – thank goodness. And so far the bachelor himself seems like a pretty decent guy. Still not sure why they picked France but I’m definitely lovin’ that their house is a castle. I did notice that the initial introductions when the girls got out of the limos were the most awkward I’ve ever seen. I swear each girl said something that I thought they must’ve walked up those steps saying ‘what was I THINKING?’. Anyway, tonight is Boston Legal and I can’t wait to see what role Michael J. Fox will have. Hopefully it’s a recurring character and not just a one-night thing. Other than that not much else on. I do typically like award shows and the people’s choice awards are on tonight so maybe I’ll catch a bit of that before Boston Legal.

Well, off to work today. Busy day but tomorrow I’m off and hoping to do some scrappin’ with my sisters. That is if one of them doesn’t have a baby before then, in which case I’ll be spending the day at the hospital with my new niece. :)

{ New Television }

No I don’t mean a new actual television. I mean new SHOWS on tv. New Desperate Housewives tonight and although Grey’s Anatomy wasn’t ACTUALLY new it was a really great recap of last season to get caught up for the new one to start. Quite possibly my favorite show outside of Dancing with the Stars. Although it’s so tough to pick a favorite. I love the emotions of Grey’s Anatomy. I love the characters (who doesn’t love Dr. McDreamy?!). I love the music they choose for the show. I can even watch reruns of the show which is rare for me. Other than Third Watch reruns I really can’t sit through a show I’ve already seen. Oh, sometimes I’ll play a show a second time if I wasn’t really paying attention the first time through. It’s extremely rare for me to sit and just watch a tv show. I really need to take breaks from all the business and do that more often. I’ve done it a few times over the past month or so and I actually felt sorta spoiled. Kinda crazy, huh.

So for this week with all the new shows starting I thought I’d post a little reminder of which shows are on and when.

Brand new show. Looks pretty interesting from the previews so we’ll see if it’s good or not.

My best friend Jill and I watch the Bachelor every season. This one sorta snuck up on me but I’ll be calling her in the morning to see if she wants to come over and watch it either tomorrow night or later in the week. Gotta love Tivo. :) Little disappointed that this season takes place in France. Why not Greece or Italy?! France??? I guess Paris is supposed to be the city of love so I guess we’ll see. Do love the theme song for this season though. Reminds me that I need to load up the soundtrack for the movie French Kiss on my ipod. Haven’t listened to that in forever.

So that’s it for Monday night. House is on too which I know is hugely popular but I just can’t seem to get into it. The guys seems like such a jerk to me. I guess I just don’t get it. Little sneak peek into my tuesday night choices – Boston Legal….Michael J. Fox is guest starring. How awesome is THAT! Love that show and I’m a big fan of Michael J. Fox so that’ll be a must see for me. :)
