Feeling the negativity creeping back in today so I thought I’d post some things I’m thankful for lately. Like…
open windows…
fresh air…
birds chirping….
I LOVE my new neighborhood. I am so glad I found a place that I enjoy coming home to. I feel safe here. I have a more responsible attitude towards it since I feel I have something to prove, even if only to prove it to myself. That I can take care of myself. It hasn’t been easy and I may never actually fully furnish the place but I have everything I need and that’s enough. I eat dinner on the couch (or sometimes sitting on the floor). I have a beautiful deck but nothing to sit on when I’m out there. I’ve actually considered moving one of my big wing back chairs out there on nights like last night. It was so beautiful. Think my neighbors would laugh? I’m so not a fan of those resin stackable chairs and right now new wicker furniture is probably not happenin’ before the end of summer so unless I can figure out a way to build some patio furniture I’m thinking the wing backs could be awfully comfy out there. And I can’t wait till the nights are warm enough to plant some flowers in pots out there.
I also drove around a bit last night and discovered some great walking trails so if the rain holds off tonight I think maybe it’s time to get the walkin’ shoes out. It seems that over the past few months I’ve lost a fair amount of weight. Clothes don’t seem to be fitting well lately and I moved two whole loops on my favorite belt. Still could use a lot of toning of what’s left though so I think I’m gonna take advantage of the nice weather before it gets too warm.
online friends…
I can’t imagine where I’d be without them. One of them sent me the greatest online gift this weekend and I can’t wait to post more but I’ve gotta work on some visuals to properly post about it. Let’s just say she was incredibly generous and it’s something that I had been raving about for months but would’ve never spent that much money on myself. You know who you are and as soon as I get your address I’ve got a bag with your name on it and another one that’s still floatin’ around in my head trying to find just the right fabrics for. :)
And another sweet online friend has apparently just redone her shoppe. I’ll have to wait till I’m home to really explore but I gathered that she’s got a little sale going on for one day only (check out her blog) and that there are new galleries at the site. Can’t wait to check it out! :)
And have you all seen Nancy’s blog lately?! She is another incredibly generous gal that I am so lucky to know through digital scrapping. We met during the days of the Ultimate Digi Scrapper contest and she was so gracious even then. Well, now she designs and she’s even asked me to be part of her creative team (or one of her Angels as she calls us). I’m pretty sure she doesn’t realize that my creativity pretty much went out the door right after that big contest. Once I find it back though I’ve got some FUN goodies to play with. :) I’ve got an easter LO that’s about half done and way past due for a magazine deadline but what’s done so far using some of her awesome vintage frames is lookin’ pretty sweet. Now if I can just figure out what papers would compliment them. I swear I just stare at the screen without a clue what to do lately. Ugh! But this is a happy post so we aren’t going to talk about my lack of creativity. Just go check out Nancy’s blog. Starting April 1st all you have to do is post a comment there and you’re entered to win an Ipod shuffle. How fun and easy is that?! :)
Great TV & Tivo…
Currently in my playlist:
Six Degrees – This show is finally back and I’m SO glad. Quite possibly my favorite show on TV. The music they choose might even be better than Grey’s Anatomy and I especially love that they have one story line that follows a photographer that takes the most amazing photo-journalistic style photos.
Brothers & Sisters – I love how this completely dysfunctional family seems to always come together in the most amazing way.
Grey’s Anatomy – Of course. Again, excellent music, worth watching for that alone
Dancing with the Stars –This season I think my favorites so far are Ohno and Joey Fatone.
What About Brian – Little disappointed with the main characters new haircut and I wasn’t a fan at all of the Bridget character this season but come on, 2 of the girls on the show started their own cupcake shop!
October Road – new show, so far lovin’ it.
The Office – Still find this show hilarious.
American Idol – Current favs are Blake Lewis and Chris Richardson
The Class – Where’d this show go? I’ve been saving old episodes just to have something that’s laugh out loud funny when necessary. The red head guy is my favorite. It seems like every thing he says cracks me up.
Wow, two long posts two days in a row and NEITHER of them with a single picture. CRAZY! :) I have been keeping up my photo-a-day though. I’ve even already taken one for today on the way home but I think I’ll take the camera with if I go for a walk tonight and see if I can’t find something more spring like. :)
Okay girlfriend! Love ya to pieces and sending some goodies your way!
Sooo with ya on AI! Go Chris and Blake and they are the cuuuties too!
And looooved JF dancing last night..his coat tails ROCKED! So those 2 shows are my all time favs! I’ll be thinking of ya tonight when we watch and maybe someday you’ll be dancing along right there too! Muah!
Wow.. updated already!! nice work..
We’ve got the same Tivo going.. I LOVE BROTHER’S AND SISTERS.. I have not found anyone else who watches that!! Yes, hooked on October Road.. Greys, longtime favorite.. and What about Brian.. I just fell in love this season. And it soared high on the list of priorities! Dancing with the stars, yes.. Office, still a love of mine.. Have not heard of The Class.. but I also watch shows on USA.. one called Psych..pretty funny.. oh Six Degrees..glad it came back!! Uhm.. sorry I could talk tv for hours.. I will leave now! And stop bugging you!! Take care! :)
I just last night saw the ad for 6 Degrees returing this week and was like “I gotta call Shawn”! LOL I swear, I thought they cancelled it…. WAB, well, I am not down with the additions of Tiffany Amber Thiessen or the chick that was on Dancing With The Stars but maybe they will be short lived (at least the “Dancing” one anyway seeing how Brian goes thru chicks)& since that was the season finale I don’t have to look think about them for a while! :D I was lovin’ the Cupcake Shop – we need to do that! LOL
The Class had it’s season finale a couple weeks ago and The Office will be back on the air with new epies on April 12th!
I think that’s all I know as far a the boobtube goes :D
Love ya and I have a little treat for you!!!! Two actually! ;)
So, it turns out I wasn’t done…how could I forget to mention Brothers & Sisters??? LOL
Yes, I *love* it…the cast was chosen with perfection and I love all the storylines…that Ken Olin knows his stuff…I was/am a diehard “30 Something” chick and cried when it went off the air! LOL Shhh, don’t tell anyone! :D
OK, so where did BOTH of my long winded responses go?!?!?!?
Fuggin’ Typepad!!!!!
I can’t imagine life without TIVO:)
I totally think you should move one of those chairs out on the patio! that would rock! just as long as you scrap while you’re out there:)
I went to ABC’s website and caught one of the six degrees episodes…omgosh… amazing. great music. you were totally right.
you know what i do when i feel the negativity starting to creep in? i go watch garden state. you should try it. xoxo
Six Degrees has a photographer in it?? I’ll have to check that out! The others I already watch, well except for October Road.
Love,
Nina
Wow you watch a lot of crap on TV. I bet when your apartment loses power, your entire universe freezes.
Wow, I think that it is so obvious that we are sisters. Other than The Office – I never got into that show. I don’t find that or Napolean Dynamite funny (maybe it’s me). I wish that i could just stay awake long enough to watch What About Brian & Brothers & Sisters (told ya I don’t have much of a life). :) Oh yeah – Keep lookin’ up!
Do you know what I have saved on my TIVO? 32 episodes of The Backyardigans. 32!!! It started out innocently enough. It came on when Zoë was about six months old. She liked it so we recorded the three episodes they had. Then as new ones came on we recorded those too. Two years later we have 32 episodes. Care for me to sing some of them to you?
I have some more happy things for you.
1. Sliced cheese
2. Sitting down with a new magazine and the beverage of your choice
3. Clean sheets
Have a great day!!!
Totally love your photo-a-day photos! WOW! You are awesome! :o )
I also really love the glimpses of your new space- It feels so warm and welcoming!
So glad to see you in high spirits, too! :o)
Oh, yeah, and that TV list… we could so be best TV buds! LOL
I LOVE The Class. I’ve been wondering the same thing about where’d it go; I seriously hope they’re not permanently doing away with it already. That always seem to happen to my favorite shows. *sigh* My favorite character is also the red-headed guy. There’s just something about him; he’s a total dork but so, so, so funny!!!
Well let me just share something I’m thankful for today … YOU and your wonderful creativity. As I’ve read through the first few chapters of “The Cure for the Common Life” I have to smile at how our Creator gave us each a passion … and not by accident. So thank you for using your talent to brighten the days of others.
I love, love, love my new purse and hope some new sales come your way!
And thank goodness for good tv too … I only have a few I can faithfully watch, but Grey’s is my favorite, followed by some light hearted Gilmore Girls and then The Apprentice for a little reality TV. However, I believe the list is going to increase to include October Road.
I hope some warm weather warms your soul and drives the dark negativity away!
Hi :) I know how the negativity thing so totally doesn’t creep up it tries to jump out and get right in. I’m proud of you for thinking of the good things. I would drag a wingback out there onto the porch. Its one of the good things..and you doesn’t want the good things and good memories?
Hey Shawn, just wanted to give you a hug…been reading your blog and know that you’re facing some challenges…keep your chin up. Lord knows I tend to vent quite a bit on the old blog-o-rino, I know it does make a difference to share with people who care, but who aren’t in your face…you know what I mean? Anyway, just stopping by to say hi and (((hugs))).
We need to hang out again soon, chica. Like in the flesh.
Waitaminute… when is the Tulip Festival? WE ARE SO DOING THAT!!
love, me <>
